Path to Internet Marketing Success!Technology
As you might imagine, there are loads of different methodologies and technologies with which to build a website. Standards based technologies have been chosen. In addition to having a very responsive website, your website can be maintained easily by most anyone with the proper knowledge and training. Your website would not be subject to any restrictions which might be imposed by the use of proprietary software. You can find a link in the "Places To Go" section for more information on the methodologies and technologies discussed here.

Apache Server
Apache has been the most popular web server on the Internet since April of 1996. The November 2005 Netcraft Web Server Survey found that more than 70% of the web sites on the Internet are using Apache, thus making it more widely used than all other web servers combined. The Apache Server is a project of the Apache Software Foundation.
I use the Apache web server to build and test the websites locally on my PC. Of course, I can work with most any web server. You find that most hosting companies use the Apache server to handle interaction of a website with the Internet.

CMS - Content Management System
A CMS software package can be used whenever a website has a lot of dynamic content which needs to be maintained by content authors.
There are many excellent choices of CMS software both in the open source (free) community and commercial. I favor the use of open source CMS, but would work with a commercial product. The choices of open source CMSs ranges from very simple to highly sophisticated. Among my favorites are OpenCMS, Mambo, and WordPress.
